But It Did Happen...

The snow came. It blew down, up, and sideways for two days straight. It left me trapped in my house and friends trapped at jobs. It closed schools, churches, the bus lines, and most importantly, work. It was an event I have waited for for some time, years maybe. And though my snow day was spent digging myself and my friends out of the blizzards wrath, it was completely awesome to see what a Duluth winter can really bring. It can be a motherfucker, let me tell you. No, wait. Let me show you.

Here is Jim Eischen's car. He was told by the Fire Department to leave it lay in a snowbank where it had gotten stuck, and to abandon it until tomorrow. Today, Jim finds that a Duluth city plow truck couldn't tell the difference between his car's rear end and a snowbank. It's completely fucked. The good news: the city owes him a new car.
Good luck getting out of that house. Even the people in that second story think its still night outside.
Here's an idea of what a real snow drift looks like. Megan demonstrates -
